This work’s intention is to tap into our innate attraction and connection to the natural world by featuring floral subjects, and seeks to subvert or suspend our notions of reality through in-camera visual effects. Eye-catching blooms are positioned centrally within a surreal, dream-like skyscape, mirrored upon on a reflected horizon and distorted by the movement of water. This mesmerizing and uncanny compositions engages viewers to contemplate the tension between the hyperrealism of the photograph and its surreal interpretation. These images explore the complexities of perceptual reality through the intentional use of water as both subject and tool offering visual sanctuary—a space to lose oneself or find oneself in meditative reflection.
