BLUE MAGNOLIA

I’m driven by a deep admiration for the natural world and a desire to capture its profound beauty. My creative process is as much about surrendering control to the medium as it is about exercising technical skill. Cyanotype printmaking, with its unpredictable and often surprising results, is a poignant example of this balance.

With the arrival of Spring, I am continuously mesmerized by flowers - particularly the magnolia. For me, this bloom evokes a sense of resilience, endurance and trust in the natural cycles of life. Through the ‘Blue Magnolia’ series, I seek to echo this state of awe by inviting contemplation on the ephemerality and cyclical nature of existence. These prints are a visual representation of the connection between humanity and the natural world, inspiring a sense of trust and belief in our collective place within it.

The ‘Blue Magnolia’ series consists of nine unique prints, each a 12x12” cyanotype, printed on locally sourced handmade paper and presented behind UV glass within a walnut frame. My hope is to provide visual proof of the intangible and to capture the essence of nature’s complex simplicity through these delicate yet impactful prints.
